A cookbook designed to be used, loved, and handed down.
Mangia is a handbound cookbook created for the Colella family as part of a capstone brief centered on paper as medium. The design blends modern editorial sensibility with traditional Italian visual culture—Florentine decorative paper, forest green cloth binding, and a bold “mangia” wordmark that feels rooted without being nostalgic.
The system is built to evolve. Ring-bound pages let recipes be swapped as tastes change. Section tabs are intentionally unlabeled, so the organization can shift as generations pass. A custom recipe template balances image space, ingredients, and notes in a layout meant to be used and kept.
An exercise in material thinking—texture, pattern, and craft made into an object that lives in the world.
