Understanding the problem

Snowboarders needed a centralized platform to track conditions, find new trails, and connect with other enthusiasts. Existing apps were cluttered and didn't focus on the community aspect.

Strategic approach

Created a clean, minimal interface focused on real-time mountain conditions and social features. Used winter-inspired color palette and intuitive navigation.

Bringing the vision to life

This UI/UX design project challenged me to create an app that could be used on mobile and desktop interfaces. Additionally, I created a promotional website explaining the app. I choose to create a social app for skiers and snowboarders. This allows mountain goers to connect, explore, and learn.

Developing the Concept

I started this project by exploring the app concept. I knew I wanted it to be social media forward but, also provide vital services like condition reports, resort information and maps, and learning tools. So, in addition to it being a social media app, it also serves as a light workout tracker and trip planner.

After identifying the app features, I was able to build an IA Diagram to better understand the flow of the app. Using this, I created a user persona and user flow diagram.

Wireframes to Mock-ups

Mobile App

The mobile app needed an intuitive interface that could be used while wearing ski googles. The wireframes show the stucture and experience the user interacts with. The final mockup is below.

Desktop App

The desktop app would be used more at home so it made the multi-page app into a dashboard. This shows the user all the information they could want in one glance.

Promotional Website

This was the last part of the project. It serves as a preview to what the app is and how it could be used.
